Community Engagement
The SmartGov team has extensive experience and expertise in this area, and has compiled a suite of options for community engagement. A strategy will be tailored for your council to complement and build on the organisation's existing and planned community programs.
Our toolkit provides guidance on how to plan and deliver your community engagement activities. This includes ‘grass roots’ engagement, such as community focus groups. A community advisory group can be utilised to consult with a broad cross-section of the community, covering a range of ages, backgrounds and locations of residence.
Assistance can also be provided with engaging with the media to inform the community on the purpose of the service review and promote the need for change. This would seek to gain community ownership of the financial challenges, and encourage participation in the search for solutions.
